Brian Matthys, DO
Brian Matthys, DO is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences. Postgraduate studies followed at Ohio University and completed in 2000. He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology in the Department of Internal Medicine at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.
Dr. Matthys is the founder and Chief Medical Officer of Sunflower Dermatology and Medical Day Spa whose mission is better skin for a better life®
Dr. Matthys is a member and past president of Kansas City Dermatologic Society. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Photobiology, and the American Society for Mohs Surgery.
Dr. Matthys is a participant of Northland Healthcare Access, whose purpose is to provide care to the under or uninsured living in the Northland of Kansas City Missouri. He is also a past member on the Board of Directors of the Jellybean Conspiracy, a theater of kindness whose mission is to include the gifts and creativity of children and young adults with disabilities within the structure of a theatrical play. Dr. Matthys is co-founder of Fair and Fashionable™, a charitable organization created to transform the belief that tanned skin is healthy, beautiful and in-style.
Dr. Matthys is the creator of eco-sport® sun protection products and UV INDEX app aimed to create awareness about sun protection and skin cancer avoidance using the UV INDEX. He is creator ofAVOIDTHEBURN® which educates on these topics.
Dr. Matthys is the senior advisor for North America for First Derm, powered by iDoc24, a digital health company using tele-dermatology to increase the availability of board certified dermatologic care to the world. Dr. Matthys also participates with DermatologistOnCall®, a virtual health care solution making accessibility to board certified dermatologists easier, faster and more convenient.
Dr. Matthys is married with one daughter and enjoys travel, guitar and antique cars.
Molly B. Menser, DO
Molly B. Menser, DO originally from Minnesota, is a Kansas City trained dermatologist. She is a 2007 graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where she was presented the President’s Award a top honor given by the University President. She completed her internship at Saint Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Her dermatologic training followed at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Dr. Menser has become active in teaching medical students and fostering interest in the discipline of dermatology to those in primary care. She twice received the University of Kansas Student Voice award for excellence in clinical teaching.
While completing her training in dermatology, Dr. Menser developed a passion for educating children, adolescents and adults on the prevention of skin cancer.
Dr. Menser is a board certified dermatologist and Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Mensers personal interests include photography, travel, antiques, theater, and baking.
Nicholas A. Rudloff, DO
Nicholas A. Rudloff, DO was born and raised in Northeast Ohio. He completed his undergraduate studies at Denison University in Granville, Ohio in 2004. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa in 2008 where he was a member of Sigma Sigma Phi Osteopathic Honor Society.
Dr. Rudloff is board certified in Internal Medicine having completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine through the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, Summa Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He served as Chief Resident for the program in 2010-2011. He completed a second residency in Dermatology through the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and served as the Dermatology Chief Resident in 2013-1014. Dr. Rudloff is a member of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Rudloff enjoys golf, skiing and soccer, but most of all spending time with his wonderful family.
Allie Summers has been a Licensed Aesthetician in both Kansas and Missouri since 2008. She completed her Aesthetics Instructor training in 2009 and joined the Sunflower Dermatology team in 2013. She offers customized skin care treatment plans tailored to patient’s specific needs and goals. Allie truly has a passion for promoting healthy skin and helping patients achieve “better skin for a better life.”
Lynn Swafford, PA-C was born and raised in central Kansas. In 2009, she completed her undergraduate studies in Manhattan, KS, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Kansas State University. Lynn then relocated to Wichita, KS, to begin her Physician Assistant education and training. In July of 2014, she graduated from Wichita State University with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
In her 2nd year of Physician Assistant training, Lynn was given the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation in Dermatology. During this time, she developed a passion for caring for those with skin disease. After successfully completing the clinical rotation, she knew she would like to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant in Dermatology. She will begin her career at Sunflower Dermatology as a Clinical Acne Specialist. Having dealt with acne as an adolescent and young adult, she understands the daily struggle of living with acne and has dedicated her time to caring for those facing that struggle.
Outside of Dermatology, Lynn loves to spend time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys going on long walks, reading a good book, listening to music, and traveling.
Lynn is a board-certified Physician Assistant and a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
