Vi Peel is a mixture of Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA), Tretinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C, and is the only chemical peel that is considered for the under-eye area.

• Acne
• Scarring

Vi Peel is Safe for Individuals with Darker Skin Tones

For years, skin care products have been lacking for those with darker skin tones. Clients of Hispanic and African American descent have found that some of their skincare options can be severely limited, particularly when it came to chemical peels. The problem was previous chemical peels had potentially serious side effects for those with naturally darker skin. Chemical peels were either ineffective or had a high risk of skin discoloration or permanent scarring.

Vi Peel has been proven to be safe for all skin tones. This is because the standard VI Peel solution has a concentration of less than 15 percent of TCA, salicylic acid, Retin-A, and Phenol. This combination is self-neutralizing and safe for all skin colors.

What Does a Vi Peel Treatment Involve?

Every client choosing a Vi Peel will begin their procedure with a thorough cleansing of the treatment area. After the skin is cleansed and dried, the Vi Peel solution is applied in two phases. The first application is to directly effect the cells of the skin’s surface area. The second application penetrates the skin’s surface to eliminate the toxins and dead skin cells lurking within the dermis layer. This application is virtually painless, however, clientele with sensitive skin may experience mild discomfort in the form of tingling to a moderate burning. A fan can be provided during application process to ease any discomfort.

Depending on the severity of the client’s skin concern, the aesthetician may opt for a 25 percent stronger solution. This stronger solution is effective for treating clientele with melasma and more severe scarring.

The time of treatment takes around 30 minutes. The Vi Peel solution quickly dries and is left on the skin for a period of about six hours. During this time, they are free to resume daily activities without restriction. When the six-hour period is up, they are instructed to wash off the Vi Peel solution with a special cleaner provided to them by their aesthetician.

Over the next couple days, people often experience some reddening of the skin. About the third day, their skin may begin to peel, and this self-exfoliating process continues about 6 days. The treated area will have readily noticeable. However, the best results appear about 4 to 6 weeks after treatment and they can visibly see their skin looking younger, smoother, clearer, and more radiant.
